Mesías Maiguashca

In 1988 I designed the installation A MANDELBOX, it was first performed the same year in the Festival of Donaueschingen.

The installation consisted of two units:

  1. One devoted to the perception of image and sound of fractal calculations in real-time;
  2. The Video-Memoiren, short sequences (in the manner of video/clips) based on fractal images and shown in a quasi science-fiction context, with texts of the novel SOLARIS from Stanislaw Lem. The original form of this work was of life-performances using a computer (Atari-1040-STF) and a synthesizer (TX/802). In 1998 I digitalized many of those sequences. The present publication shows 7 of them, with a total duration of 40:50 Minutes.

Video-Memoiren was composed by Mesias Maiguashca with the collaboration of Bernard Geyer and with the use of his program Midi/Box. Video-Memoiren is a production of the K.O. Studio Freiburg.
